Love rules the world,

Love rules the heart!

Life is short.....

Has it ever happened to you? One moment, you are sad and morose thoughts are churning around your head….. And in sometime, something just unplanned happens; that takes your breath away and pastes a smile in your face so much that you start to regret that you were ever sad!

Has it ever happened to you? You’ve had a terrible week. Got caught up in work and additionally, all sorts of matters entered your life…. And suddenly, a heavenly weekend drops into your kitty. You have one of the most memorable experiences in your life, and you wonder what made you invest your week thinking about things so temporary and irreparable!

We all spend so many moments in our life sad, tensed, angry, worried, etc that we take away a chance to smile! Agreed, it’s not possible to smile always. Situations do bring in all the above emotions…. But, I believe, it’s not impossible to repair all the causes of your emotions. Sooner or Later, if you clearly see, you will find reasons to smile and tackle everything with new zest!

Because this is your LIFE!!!!!!! You don’t know what you had earlier and what you will get later!! It’s just this one life!!!

And Life’s not to whine for a girl you didn’t get…. Life’s not to do a job you don’t like….. Life’s not to give up in the last step…. Life’s not to prove you to everyone, but to prove you to yourself….. Life is a waiting for glory, for light amidst struggle and darkness!

Life is short! Do things you love… Do it for yourself and not for others…. Care for people you’re close to…. Find time for people you care……. Love truly…… Go for holidays…. Take a break…… Do everything you fear…… Fulfill every dream you dreamt….. Find time for your favorite hobby…. Play your favorite sport…. Invest time in a good deed….. Spend festivals with family and your set of friends…. Read stuff… Sing and Dance in a karaoke…

Again, Life is short! Don’t waste it in hatred and holding grudges against people…. Understand them and remember them for the good they possess…. If you make an attempt, you will surely sight those! Forgive people but don’t forget them….. Learn from mistakes but only when you should! Trust some people….. Everything can’t be achieved alone! Cut down your prejudices…. There are always things which are called “Exceptions”! Take the chances you believe in… Even if they are going to change your life forever…. They might be worth it! Never judge people…. Because nothing and no one is predictable, there are facets you fail to scrutinize! Travel a lot….. Because sometimes, getting lost will help you find yourself! And believe in God…. Man can’t answer every question!

Again, Life is SHORT! Live it like it’s yours!!!!! Live it like a dream!!!! Live it like it’s the only thing you own!!!!! And always remember… Irrespective of whatever comes your way… Life is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Love Stories!!!!!!!

LOVE….. Love is something which every human experiences in every micro-second of his/her life…. But still has no words to explain it!

We belong to a funny generation… Everyone has their own distinct perspective about LOVE! For someone, Love is courage….that makes them walk that extra mile. For someone, Love is strength….to tackle every obstacle in sight. For someone, Love is time-pass….to make their days a little vibrant. For someone, Love is for the weak….because it makes you do something you don’t intend to do. For someone, Love is patience….a wait for the right one at the right time. For someone, Love is pain…..because you sometimes end up losing. For someone, Love is serene….the only unselfish feeling in the world. For someone, Love is silent….felt in the heart, not spoken in words. For someone, Love is non-existent….because they are too pessimistic to experience it in their life.

For me, I don’t think any set of words can appropriately and wholly describe what “LOVE” is! I was, am and will always be a fan of Love Stories…… From books to movies, I love the whole idea of this genre…. I avidly read Nickolas Spark’s novels…. A Walk to Remember, True Believer, Dear John, etc… I enjoy watching Romcoms like Jab we Met, Wake up Sid, The Proposal, 50 First Dates, Notting Hill, When Harry Met Sally, 27 Dresses, Band Baaja Baarat and many more.

I am a sucker when it comes to Love Stories (Conditions apply. Provided I find it convincing). Call me an Emotional fool… Yes, I am!

I admit Fairy tales don’t exist in everyone’s case. It’s for the Cindrellas and Rapunzels and Snow Whites! But, everyone has to admit… Love Stories exist!

Girls wait for the Chandler (Friends), Edward (Twilight), Arjun (Namastey London), Jai (Jaane tu ya jaane na) and Aman (Kal ho na ho) of their lives to give them their worth….. And Guys expect a Shalini (Dil Chahta hai), Geet (Jab we Met), Ayesha (Wake up Sid), Sophie (Music and Lyrics) and Vivian (Pretty Women) to make them fall in love!!!

The common aspect is that…. There comes someone in your life who teaches you what it is to love!!

For some, love results in marriage…. And for some, with marriage begins love! For some, it’s that “Forever-and-Always” childhood friend…. And for some, it’s that “You-Belong-with-me” college buddy! For some, it’s the *chupke-chupke* love with the person in the opposite apartment…. And for some, it’s the *haule-haule* love with the person in a distant city! For some, it’s the Rockstar who reciprocates their love…. And for some, Solace is found in the Geek who always loved them! For some, it’s the co-passenger in the Kingfisher flight they once met and stayed forever in contact….. And for some, it’s the person in the everyday 9.15 Churchgate Fast train they finally managed to ask out…. For some, one look is enough to make them realize that this is the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with…. And for some, even a lifetime is not enough to finally realize that this is the person they are meant to be with!

The definitions of Love changes with age…..But the true essence of love is not in the flowers, love letters exchanged, mushy-mushy dialogues, frequent messaging and calls…… But it’s in all the little unselfish acts you do for that special person, thinking about their happiness and not yours! It’s not in the “Oh! How beautiful you are!” or “Aw! You’re so good!”…. But it’s in the fact that, irrespective of the people the person has wronged, the irritating habits, the hurting incidents, you still CHOOSE to Love that person and spend your life with that person!!!

Photographs!!!!!!!

Pictures tell a thousand words!!!!

A few days back I was going through all the photo albums inside my drawer. Right from my parents’ adolescence to my and my brother’s “child”-hood! From the black and white photographs to the colour photographs, all developed over camera reel!

A new sense of nostalgia always erupts with photographs! Every picture makes us revisit a place in our memories which was forgotten during the course of our life!

To add to the fun, watch it with all the people involved! Watch your family pictures with your family and rest assured, you will have a gala time!

When I ponder over my parents’ photographs… their marriage photographs… I always feel that my father is the best looking guy and my mother is nothing short of a film actress! It’s an absolute delight to watch your relatives’ years younger… The older generation now, looking beautiful, basking in their youthful glow then! And the mighty and bossy young fellows now, being pictured as meek and innocent creatures then!

When I look up to my or my brother’s childhood photographs… They always amaze me! How our every day, every month and every year as a child, has been trapped in these photographs! How we have changed and yet not changed! Our childhood activities (like Dance, fancy dress shows etc.), our birthdays, our first festivals, every photograph a testimony of all the times gone! It startles me how supremely cute everyone looks as a child! Just flawless! Something which can never appear hereafter!

Then there are albums of various trips to various places that we embarked upon…. Right from Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali-Shimla in the north to Mysore-Munnar- Kanyakumari in the south; every journey made immortal…… There are many other cities that my photographs serve as evidence of my visit! Every album reminds me of the places I explored, the hilarious incidents that happened, and very importantly… of the people involved!!!

I also possess some school time photographs…. Of the secondary level picnics wherein I enjoyed with friends, the 10^th STD trip to Saputara and also the farewell party at school! Every photograph makes me revive my 12 yrs in school, my friends, my teachers, my achievements, humorous incidents…. Oh, a LOT!!

Thereafter, digital photographs and built-in camera phones came in and the number of photographs taken only increased…

Sometimes I juggle through pictures of my rendezvous with friends, tiny expeditions with them, birthdays celebrated together, all exhibiting the cherished moments I spent with them!!

I occasionally go through all the pictures that were clicked in the recent years with my degree college friends at many hang-outs, at parties, at celebrations, at birthdays, at fests…. They are so many… yet all so special!!!

Every photograph has a story behind it! A reason for it! It makes all of us go in flashback mode and recollect how it was taken, when it was taken, why it was taken, etc! It reminds you how people change, how you change and how feelings change!

Albums become a thesis to our evolution over the years…. From the cradle to the podium! The various poses in which we were caught to the various poses in which we are caught…. It explains a lot! Personally I’m not much of a fan of being photographed…. I disliked it then and so appeared grumpy and still sometimes dislike it…. But I can’t deny that I love going back memory lane viewing those!

Try it guys!! If you haven’t gone through it in a long time, search for those, sweep the dirt away and scan through each album once! Scrutinize every picture with the people around you and re-live all those memories!! You would not regret it!

And, lastly, to repeat my good friend’s words (he will recognize it surely), Take pictures (my input: not in excess like him), pose heartily…. It’s only later you will realize how important it is to you!

It’s been a lot of time since my last blog! Practicals, Exams just took away all the time. (Read (only for students): Well, you guys are the only ones who will actually understand where my time went!) But it feels great writing after a lot of time.

Firstly, I would like to thank all the people who told me that they missed my blog! Now that means a lot to me! So a huge “Thank you” to all you guys!!! Your every feedback and like is deeply appreciated!

After hours of thinking about what to write, I decided to write about the newEST fever that has gripped me…. “FRIENDS”! I know I am extra-ordinary-ly late in catching up with the hit TV show, but I got hooked to it after watching a few episodes! Ross, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Rachel have all become special!!

Ross, a paleontologist, his expressions never fail to make me “LOL”! He’s smart yet stupid and sincere yet foolish! And the situations he runs into… I guess that inspired the makers of “ROFL”!!!

Monica, a chef… She’s a dynamite!! She can do anything in this planet! Overly organized, overly obsessive, overly compulsive, overly competitive, overly dominating, and in short overly Perfect!

Phoebe, a musician –cum-masseuse…. Her frank one-liners can make anyone’s jaw hurt laughing! Only one word clearly describes her…. “WEIRD”! Her self computated principles, her preposterous music and her blunt on-the-mouth sayings are severely hilarious!!!

Joey… “How you doin???” He’s a struggling Actor by profession, a foodie and a womanizer by choice! His tastes, his mannerisms, his antiques, his everything is drop-dead funny!! “Yeah?.... Yeah!”

Chandler, who has some job in statistics research or something, but he’s a copy-writer at heart! He’s the sarcasm propagator of the gang, who can’t do without making fun at other’s expense! More than the joke, his looks and tone make it highly amusing!!

(P.S. Thesaurus ran out of words to describe “superlatively humorous”!)

Rachel, a fashion enthusiast, is pampered and childish! She lives her own way, loves her own self and gets things to go according to her! She exists in her dreams without caring what her future has for her!

This show is way too funny and way too hilarious (WTH, Thesaurus)!! But, most importantly, it gives out a strong feeling of importance of friendship!!

All these characters are grossly different from each other… yet they gel along perfectly well! They have their share of fights, tiffs, arguments…. Everything. But they still remain rock steady with each other and are ready to go any length! Not because it’s a compulsion, but because, for those characters, friendship is a “life long bondage of happiness”! One still loves the other, even though the other got the one into trouble! That’s the essence of friendship!! Every character puts aside all their differences, only to sustain friendships….

As the title track says… “I’ll be there for you… coz your there for me too!”

Go catch up this show guys… I’m sure everyone will love it! And avid watchers of the show like me… Continue!! And don’t forget, make friends!! If you don’t continue to be one, your never gonna have one!

teenage......

25/10/2011… This day, I turned 20! It was a day, initially marred by boring submissions in college and then made fantastic with friends! Some people of my age become livid at this point, that they are no more teens and “serious” adulthood is dawning over them. Some people realize that their years in college are now numbered and very soon they would have to take up a job or study further, work like a dog and get engulfed by all the responsibilities cropping up.

It’s not like teenage is easy. C’mon, we go through testing times ourselves. It’s not easy sleeping with open eyes during lectures, completing every journal in a day’s time before submissions, politely smiling to your teacher when you actually crave to hit her for screwing up your viva, etc. Its tough guys… Pat yourself! It’s not easy getting up at 7 in the morning especially after late night movies are a ritual to you. It’s tough to convince your parents that sometimes traffic can make you an hour late in case of parties.

Friendships sometimes become your biggest energy to go on, while sometimes become your biggest headache. It becomes increasingly difficult to be in the good books of everyone. You eventually realize that the theory you were taught as a child that THIS is Right and THAT is Wrong is actually false and everything goes according to THIS being My perspective and THAT being Yours!

Then teenage also involves everyone’s perception about love! Point one-If it’s present, it’s a problem. Your life suddenly changes. Your bill and monthly expenses increase. Lies to parents increase. Your sleep hours decrease. And after all this, you still stand a chance of getting dumped! You try to show everything’s superb but in the inside…. Petty fights hurt!

Point two-If it’s not present, then also there’s problem. The statistics of people around you getting committed are rapidly increasing. Suddenly it becomes a question of your prestige (read ego). Suddenly you feel alone in the valley. And you have no one to listen to you when you’re troubled! You try to show “Being Single” rocks but in the inside…. Can I see anyone interesting?

Point three- And if it’s present and still not present, then also problem! Your life suddenly becomes the fodder for Love Guru’s and Agony Aunt’s! Everyday rehearsals of what to say, what not to say, how much to smile, how much not to smile! Encoding and decoding of signals! Desperate watching of every romantic movie just to check your story matches whom! You try to show you don’t actually care but in the inside…… what is going on in his/her mind?

So, with this, I tried bidding my adieu to “teenage”! I’m sorry if I forgot some oh-so-important points! But in the end, Life is just life! It goes on and we learn to move on with it. Whatever happens, go on with a smile. And listen to what your mind really tells you….. It’s always correct!
